In 1990, long before today's global environmental challenges moved to the world's "front burner", we proactively published one of the first environmental statements in the industry stating that Millcraft will "continue to balance our business needs with the conscientious effort towards the long term protection and enhancement of our natural environment". * Experience has shown that sustainable business practices can be cost-effective, build employee and customer loyalties, and drive new business for the company.

Shrinking Our Environmental Footprint Our aim is to conserve natural resources and minimize waste through source reduction and recycling, and we encourage our business partners and suppliers to strive for the same high levels of environmental performance. The paper industry faces increasing regulation and market pressure regarding its environmental impact. Millcraft deems these environmental controls necessary and strives to shrink our environmental footprint through the following practices:
- Environmental Certifications Millcraft has been an FSC-Certified (Forest Stewardship Council) Paper Distributor since 2005.
- Community commitment and acccountablity Millcraft monitors paper mills to ensure that their forests are managed using environmentally preferable practices. We keep current environmental reports on all of our suppliers, and we are continually educating our employees and our customers on changes regarding these suppliers' environmental policies.
- Minimizing consumption of office paper products containing virgin wood fiber. Millcraft embraces a strong mission of proper recycling efforts in its office and warehouse facilities. All employees are trained on the importance of office environmentalism annually.
- Establishing an internal Environmental Department with a specialist hired to research and educate our employees and customers. Millcraft has also hired an architectural consultant who is LEED-certified to improve Millcraft’s building efficiencies, further decreasing our carbon footprint.
Environmental Integrity of our Supply Chain Millcraft believes in a team approach between our suppliers and our customers in order to maximize the environmental integrity of our entire supply chain. We strive to educate every paper consumer about the importance of understanding environmentalism when purchasing paper. Our Environmental Department will gladly travel to our customers to educate entire staffs on how to buy environmentally preferable paper, as well as introduce other eco-friendly opportunities for your business to improve its overall environmental footprint.

Millcraft can provide you with paper that: contains high PCW (post consumer waste) content; is cultivated in forests that are third party-certified and managed responsibly; is bleached without using chlorine derivatives; is made from alternative, non-wood pulp fiber such as bamboo, cotton, and hemp; or is produced using alternative energy sources such as wind and water.
